We set up camp near Willow Creek Resevoir, 6 miles out of Augusta, Mt.
A few days before this, my husband had been diagnosed with RSD a chronically painful condition involving your nerves. We were bummed out but at the same time we were glad to know what had been bothering him for the last two years. He'd had this pain since he had his shoulder operated on two years ago.
It was his birthday so he decided instead of moping around about the RSD, we'd go camping. One of our favorite activities!
We arrived late one evening, to our dismay, because the lights on the camper didn't work, and the lights on the horse trailer didn't work either. Luckily we made it to camp in the dark without being stopped, even though we came through a wreck outside of town.
Our camp isn't in the traditional camping spot, we like to be down at the East end of the dam by ourselves.
Our horse trailer carries our four wheelers, it's still used for the horse and the donkey, but since we have that trailer, why buy another for four wheeling? It works perfectly!
We brought both trucks so we'd have a spare in case of emergency. You never know when your outfits are old and not very reliable. Since the camp is only 30 miles from home, it was affordable to do this.
Just so you know, we weren't roughing it this time, but I do know how to do that! I've camped in a tent in the Bob Marshall and I've camped in horse trailers, I've slept out under the stars with a canvas over the sleeping bag. Just so I'm camping, I don't care how I go. But with the medical problems Robert has, it's become easier to take the 5th wheel and be comfy. He needs a regular bed and a good place to stay.
Fishing was horrible. It was the Blue Moon and no one was catching a fish. So we went four wheeling. Came back to camp and two teen age boys were having trouble with their jet ski. It wouldn't start. We gave them a ride around the lake to their camp so they wouldn't be stranded as their friends weren't showing up to pick them up.

While we were four wheeling, I took a photo of these Alkali Lillies. I think they're one of my favorite Montana flowers.
I'm a little new to how this blog works, so I'll save this and ad another post.

Welcome to blogster. I am looking forward to reading your posts. My boyfriend lived in Kallispell and Helena for a time. He had a lot on Flathead Lake. I have never been there, but sure hope to someday.
